Hearings

The Special Commission of Inquiry into the Drug ‘Ice’ will hold public and private hearings in Sydney, Broken Hill, Dubbo, Lismore, Nowra and the Hunter Region.

Hearing – Harm Reduction 

Date: 23 September 2019 – 25 September 2019

In the Hearing into Harm Reduction, the Special Commission will hear evidence about the role of harm reduction principles in informing policy, the availability and effectiveness of current harm reduction initiatives in responding to ATS use, and innovative measures used internationally to reduce the harms associated with ATS use.

In the Hearing into Diversionary Programs, the Special Commission will hear evidence about programs available to divert youth and adult offenders with a history of crystal methamphetamine and other illicit amphetamine-type stimulants (ATS) use and/or related offending from the criminal justice system.
